Do you want to bring a touch of individuality and playfulness to your bedroom? This time, we'll talk to our creative director, Jana Hučíková, about combining stripes, Oxford and classic styles, and bolder colors.

All our collections are designed so that their colors complement each other and can, therefore, be combined. We explained the basics of the Mix & Match system in our article on easy matching. You might also find it useful to read our tips on combining materials, sizes, and the number of pillows.

But how do you take Mix & Match to the next level? "A white T-shirt with jeans is always a safe choice," says Lejaan's creative director, Jana Hučíková. "But complementing this combination with a delicate necklace, a brooch, a hair scarf, or neon pumps is precisely that next level."

OXFORD AND CLASSIC TOGETHER

"Choosing a uniform style ensures that the bed always looks neat, clean, and cohesive. However, this doesn't mean that classic and Oxford styles cannot be combined," says Jana.

So, how do you combine classic pillowcases with those that have an ornamental flange? "The basic rule I follow is to stick to a pattern that considers the different sizes of pillows on the bed: large, medium, and small - classic, Oxford, classic," advises Jana.

"The largest pillows in this size trio are usually without a flange. Otherwise, the disproportion between the largest and the middle pillow would be too great. In such an arrangement, the flange is a decorative element that does not overwhelm the overall look."

COLORED SHEETS

Lejaan's range of sheets has recently been expanded to eight colors. But when should you opt for a more fanciful shade, and when should you stick to classic white? "I choose colored sheets when I want to add a colorful detail to a monochromatic interior or when color is already present in the interior, and I connect it with the bed this way," advises Jana.

A colored sheet is another way to liven up the bed and interior when you don't want to have multi-colored pillows. "I love that moment when, for example, you lift a white duvet, and some color appears underneath," she adds.

A white sheet is versatile. Reach for it whenever you want to maintain an elegant style, when the entire bed is white, or when there is a psychological need to keep a classic white sheet with colorful bedding.

BOLD VS. SUBTLE COMBINATIONS

Mix & Match is a way to easily express your individual style, the idea behind the interior design, or your personality traits.

"A combination of pink, white, and beige will be a hit if you lean towards subtle elegance. The shades work well together when they are in warm tones, and sophisticated materials such as wood and marble are used in the interior," Jana illustrates with an example.

On the other hand, a combination where the base is a dark color is simple but at the same time very distinctive and with a clear message. If contrasting colors are combined, the effect will be bold and striking.

COMBINING STRIPES WITH STRIPES

"I've always admired the ability to combine two different patterns in clothing. The rule here is the same and requires a certain amount of courage," says Jana.

By combining different stripes, the interior gains a fanciful element. At first glance, inconsistent elements surprisingly work well together, attracting attention at the same time.
