Discover the magic of our goose feather fillings. In this article, you will read about where the feathers come from, what certifications the fillings have obtained, what makes our duvets and pillows stand out, and how best to care for them.
ORIGIN AND PROCESSING OF OUR FEATHERS
For our down duvets and pillows, we have chosen high-quality goose feathers. The geese from which we source the feathers – in compliance with animal welfare principles – come exclusively from European farms. Most often, these are certified farms in Poland.
We did not choose geese by chance. Their feathers – unlike those of other bird species – have excellent thermoregulatory properties, thanks to which they retain heat perfectly and help wick moisture away from the body. At the same time, they are naturally durable and light, which makes the filling seem lighter, enhancing sleep comfort.
After the feathers are sourced from the birds, they are rinsed and sent to the factory. They travel moist and chilled. They cannot dry out during transport, as it would then be impossible to remove their natural odor. At the factory, the feathers are cleaned again, up to twenty times, to remove any impurities.
We wash our feathers with local Vltava river water, which – thanks to the wastewater treatment plant – returns to circulation, so it is not wasted. Then, the feathers are dried in a dryer and sent to the sorting facility. There, feathers are separated from down to achieve the correct proportions, after which they are used to fill pure cotton casings.

GOOSE FEATHERS YOU DON'T KNOW
Many myths circulate around natural feather fillings. People associate them with grandmother's heavy featherbeds, where down accumulated on one side, and coarser feathers pierced through the casing. However, thanks to modernized production techniques and the practical details of our fillings, such associations now belong to the realm of nostalgic memories.
The Down Comfort collection of duvets and pillows is distinguished by its lightness, densely woven casings, ease of care, and even distribution of high-quality, fine feathers. In the case of duvets, the feathers are kept in place by functional stitching, while pillows feature an innovative chamber system. Our fillings have been designed to leverage the unparalleled properties of feathers, ensuring maximum sleep comfort.
CERTIFICATIONS AND SUITABILITY FOR ALLERGY SUFFERERS
Our fillings have obtained the following certifications:
RESPONSIBLE DOWN STANDARD
During the feather sourcing process, no animal was subjected to pain, suffering, or stress. This standard also regulates the operation and use of a system for tracking and identifying the origin of the material.
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100
No chemicals or other harmful substances or dyes were used in the production of pillows and duvets.
NOMITE
The fillings are also suitable for people with dust mite allergies and meet high standards of cleanliness, density, and fabric durability. Therefore, duvets and pillows are not only suitable for people allergic to feathers.
DOWNAFRESH
Feathers are tested in a sanitary laboratory, cleaned using environmentally friendly products, and meet the strictest hygiene requirements specified by European standards.
DOWN COMFORT ALL SEASON DUVETS
For our fluffy goose feather duvets, we have chosen an optimal combination of 90% down and 10% feathers. The light down from the lower part of the chest protects against cold and has the highest thermal value. Unlike stiffer feathers, it consists of thousands of tiny fibers that are naturally softer, giving the filling lightness. On the other hand, the addition of feathers is essential for maintaining shape and volume. This is also served by the textile pockets, from which the duvets are sewn. They keep the feathers in place and provide enough space to accommodate them.
Down Comfort All Season fillings are the best choice for comfortable sleep all year round. Not only do they excellent wick away moisture, but thanks to excellent thermoregulation, they keep you warm in winter and protect you from heat in summer. We offer duvets of standard and extended lengths in versions for single or double beds.

DOWN COMFORT MEDIUM PILLOWS
For Down Comfort Medium pillows, we have chosen a medium profile and two types of internal construction. For smaller sizes, namely 40 × 40 cm and 40 × 60 cm, we used a so-called single-chamber system, which contains 60% light down and 40% feathers.
For other sizes, we opted for the so-called three-chamber system. The two outer chambers contain 90% down and 10% feathers, while the inner chamber is filled with a combination of down and feathers in a 15:85 ratio. This provides a solid foundation to maintain structure and shape, while the outer chambers ensure maximum fluffiness and enhance sleep comfort. Thanks to this innovative chamber construction, our feather pillows retain their volume for a long time and are also comfortably soft.

HOW TO PROPERLY CARE FOR FEATHERS
Duvets and pillows from the Down Comfort series can be washed. To ensure their long lifespan, we recommend washing them on a low spin cycle at 60°C using a mild detergent, ideally once a year. If in doubt, do not hesitate to use a laundry service.
Fillings can also be tumble dried, although we recommend choosing a lower temperature. Duvets and smaller pillows can also be air-dried, out of direct sunlight. Larger pillows naturally take longer to dry, so air-drying them this way is not recommended.
After a shared night, it's worth shaking out the fillings and leaving them spread out so that excess moisture can evaporate. From time to time, they can also be aired out, but not in the sun. To keep feather fillings fluffy for longer, we advise against placing them in vacuum bags or folding pillows.
